India Flights
If you are flying in from a Western country, the major points of entry are Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai and Kolkate. However in recent years, to accommodate the increasing traffic, many other airports have been upgraded to take international flights. Among these are Amritsar, Ahmedabad, Calicut, Cochin, Coimbatore, Guwahati, Jaipur, Mangalore, Pune, Thiruvananthapuram and Varanasi.
Many international airlines offers daily nonstop service to Delhi and Mumbai, from destinations in the United States , Europe , Australia , South Africa and other parts of Asia.
India has its own international airline, Air India, that often offers the lowest rate for long haul flights to India. In recent years, the government has allowed Indian private airlines like Jet Airways and Kingfisher to go international. If you want to fly to some of the smaller cities in India there are good connections via Singapore , Dubai, Doha, Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok. Alternatively you can fly to one of the major international airports in India, and connect by domestic flights to your final destination in India.
